This 12 foot extension cable with X5CD compatible connections allows you to choose an ideal location to mount your solar panel in direct sunlight. Many users mount the X5CD in a location without much or any direct sunlight, and want the ability to still use solar to avoid manually recharging the battery. 12′ is our suggested limit of the maximum length the cable should be, but this does allow for most users to mount the solar panel in an appropriate location.
