The X5CD Automatic Horse Feeder
The X5-CD Automatic Feeder is an outstanding slow feeder built from necessity, having a programmable timer for up to 5 prefilled feedings. The goal in designing the X5-CD was to make a safe and affordable feeder that could be setup anywhere, so having a rechargeable battery and minimal power usage was the foundation. The X5-CD can dispense nearly all types of feed (and at premeasured amounts), but our horse also required soaked feed, which every other feeder lacked, so the unique 5 compartment design prevented the flaws seen in other feeders.
The X5-CD is on it’s 4th official version, and has been field tested for over a decade. Version 4 boast a new control package with improved modularity and robustness. In addition, feeder drum improvements were made to eliminate “drum lift” and feed losses. The Solar Add-on allows for maintenance free usage (built in battery indicator to verify charge). Staying an affordable and reliable automatic feeder will always be our goal. We appreciate all the positive feedback and suggestions for improvements.

Who We Are
Equine Automation built its first feeder in 2009 to aid in the treatment of our own horse who suffers from Insulin Resistance and Cushing's Disease. At the time we were unable to find a feeder that met the scheduling and dietary needs we required, so the X5-CD was born. You can test the X5-CD by setting the timer to a specific time or using the test feature, which will turn the feeder 1/5 rotation each test in 3 seconds. This test was setup to illustrate displaying 30 lbs of horse feed being dispensed.
